Eating healthier doesn’t mean starting from scratch. You can create balanced meals using foods you already enjoy—just by adjusting portion sizes and adding a few key ingredients.
I used to think that to eat healthier, I had to throw out everything I loved and start over. But once I started focusing on adding protein and fiber to meals I already enjoyed, it became so much easier. Instead of ditching my favorite breakfast toast, I just added eggs for protein and avocado for healthy fats. Small tweaks like that made a huge difference!
Simple Balance Swaps:
- Pair carbs with protein and healthy fats (e.g., apple + peanut butter, toast + eggs).
- Choose a bigger serving of veggies and a smaller portion of pasta or rice.
- Add a protein source to every meal (chicken, fish, tofu, beans, or eggs).
- Use avocado or hummus instead of mayo for healthier fats.
- Include a fiber source in snacks, like nuts, seeds, or whole grains.
